Can Coconut Oil Help with Staph and MRSA?

coconuts used to make coconut oil

Health Impact News Editor Comments: This is a good article by Michelle Moore highlighting the topical benefits of coconut oil as applied towards staph skin infections. Unfortunately, she does give some inaccurate information regarding coconuts, stating: “Mass produced coconut oil, extracted from hybrid and GMO trees using heat and chemical solvents, will provide little, if any, health benefits. Low-quality, highly processed commercial coconut oil could even be unhealthy to your body over time.”

This is inaccurate, as there are no GMO coconut trees at present. Hybrid does NOT equal GMO, as almost every fruit and vegetable we have today is some kind of hybrid. Also, highly processed commercial coconut oil, unless it is hydrogenated, is still healthy, because the medium chain fatty acids are kept in tact even in high heat processing. This would include lauric acid, which is probably the main fatty acid responsible for treating staph infections. Hydrogenated coconut oil with trans fats is almost non-existent in the US. Non-processed or virgin coconut oils are definitely better, but the processed ones are not unhealthy.

There’s a lot of confusion and contradictory advice about saturated fats, even from doctors and nutritionists. Fats, especially saturated fats, have been demonized for decades for causing weight gain, diabetes, heart disease and a host of other health problems.

But just because an oil or fat is saturated does NOT automatically mean it’s unhealthy. This is contrary to what you’ve probably read, heard or seen in the media about fats. Saturated fats, and in particular coconut oil, can play a beneficial role in your diet and your overall health. In fact, coconut oil is the best choice of cooking oil as part of an immune-boosting diet during MRSA Staph treatment.

What the Experts Say

Virtually every major study on the dangers of saturated fats has failed to differentiate between normal saturated fats and artificial trans fats. Trans fats, or hydrogenated oils, are artificial “plastic” fats that weaken your immune system, degrade your health and make you more prone to a number of medical problems. So saturated fats are not the problem so much as artificial saturated fats.

Thankfully, a growing number of doctors, researchers and nutritionists are discovering the health benefits of saturated fats, especially coconut oil. Prominent doctors such as Doctor Oz MD and Doctor Mercola MD are talking about the benefits of saturated fats as a necessary component of a nutritious diet (in moderation). Your cell walls are actually made up of 50% saturated fat. And your brain in mostly composed of saturated fats. So your body needs the right kinds of saturated fats to work properly.

Coconut Oil Benefits

Organic, cold-pressed coconut oil is a healthy, natural saturated fat that strengthens your immune system and supports your overall health. This delicious oil also provides your body with instant energy, without the insulin spike of sugar and carbohydrates. Coconut oil is also the best choice for all frying, baking and heated cooking.

Another potential benefit of coconut oil is its activity against bacteria and other pathogens. The lauric acid found in coconut oil and its metabolites in the body are the main active ingredients. Some people have even used coconut oil as a treatment to heal wounds and lesions. I’ve even heard of positive results with coconut oil applied to Staph skin infections. The oil has a long history of use in skin care and cosmetics because of its soothing and restorative properties.

Here are some of the numerous health benefits of coconut oil:

Contains good saturated fats that are stable and safe at high cooking temperatures. Free of the toxic byproducts produced by other popular cooking oils at high temperatures.
Contains lauric acid, a potent antimicrobial lipid and powerful immune system booster.
Has antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal activity.
Resists going rancid, even when stored at room temperature.
Lacks the unhealthy excess Omega-6′s found in canola oil, peanut oil and other vegetable oils. Also free of the GMO (genetically modified organisms or food) found in the majority of vegetable oils.
May help balance thyroid levels, control weight gain, aid with diabetes and even reduce aging of the skin.
Cooking with Coconut Oil

The only oils I use regularly in my kitchen are olive oil and coconut oil. Olive oil is good choice for salads, dressings and many raw food applications. But coconut oil is better choice for cooking with heat. Coconut oil resists degradation with heat, so it’s the best choice for frying, baking and sautéing.

Coconut oil can be used as a direct substitute for most other cooking oils as part of an immune-boosting diet. If you’re going to cook, you might as well use an oil that’s safe at high temperatures and supports your immune system.

To your best health,

Left-Wing Media Gave Huge Coverage To March Against Trump, But Completely Blacked Out The March Against Monsanto

media-bias-2
trump.news

The media have been providing an awful lot of coverage on the women’s march against Donald Trump, but they fail miserably to cover other viable protests to their nation’s health. They continue to try and undermine the legitimacy of the Presidency, but that is by design. The owners of the mainstream media are all tied to interests that Trump seems determined to correct, which is why he didn’t want any campaign funding to begin with. (RELATED: See more Donald Trump news at Trump.news)
Trump took to Twitter on Sunday morning to address his displeasure with the protests, but acknowledged peaceful protests ultimately as a good thing. “Watched protests yesterday but was under the impression that we just had an election! Why didn’t these people vote? Celebs hurt cause badly,” Trump initially tweeted. “Peaceful protests are a hallmark of our democracy. Even if I don’t always agree, I recognize the rights of people to express their views,” followed up Trump.
Hillary Clinton did not participate in the Women’s March on Washington. Hillary Clinton attended the inauguration. By doing so, she sets a shining example, which her followers are unfortunately failing to follow. (RELATED: Find more Clinton news at Clinton.news)
The initial organizers of the march were white women, but they handed leadership over to organizers from New York, who embrace a liberal agenda focusing on workers’ rights, reproductive rights, environmental justice, immigrant rights, and ending violence against women. A group of anti-abortion women also wished to participate in the event, but those activists were excluded. Why would those women be excluded? Well, that’s the left wing for you.
The mainstream media pummeled viewers with news stories claiming nobody was interested in the inauguration, and that everybody was super excited for the march. Nielsen television ratings put Trump’s inauguration as the 2nd highest recorded in 36 years.

Are you marching for a cause, or is the cause marching for you

Neither the protests nor the DisruptJ20 attacks were spontaneous or organic demonstrations. Without the aid of left wing funded organizers, they would have never occurred. We know how fast the left wing works, we’ve seen how quickly ads went up on Craigslist to secure paid protesters after Trump’s election. It’s no surprise that the usual suspects were involved behind the scenes of the march.
The groups that organized the Women’s March on Washington were underwritten by George Soros. He believes that China’s government is superior to the US government. He sees the United States as his biggest obstacle in conquering his globalist agenda. The radical left wing still can’t except the electoral college results, so it’s blatant they don’t respect the constitution.
Asra Q. Nomani wrote in the New York Times “the march really isn’t a ‘women’s march.’ It’s a march for women who are anti-Trump.” Nomani is a lifelong liberal feminist who voted for Trump. Nomani recognized “the funding, politics, and talking points of the some 403 groups that are ‘partners’ of the march,” and discovered George Soros has either funded, or maintains a close relationship with, 56 of those partners. Among the Soros grantees designated as partners were MoveOn, American Civil Liberties Union, Center for Constitutional Rights, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch — to name a just a few.
It’s sad to see that Soros has control over so many groups with a designated cause; his cause. We knew Soros was going to be all over the inauguration the day that Trump was elected, we just didn’t know how it would all go down exactly. The ambiance in downtown Washington for the march wasn’t much different from that at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia last summer, just more of the same anti-police and anti-white radicalism.

Doctor Causes Uproar After Linking Vaccines’ Dangerous Ingredients to Rise in Neurological Diseases

A doctor at a prestigious medical clinic drew vicious attacks from vaccine defenders after he published a blog post suggesting that toxic chemicals in vaccines might be one factor in an “epidemic” of chronic diseases, including neurological disorders such as autism.

Dr. Daniel Neides is a family doctor and the director of the Cleveland Clinic Wellness Institute.
Neides’ post caused an immediate backlash, with other doctors describing the article with terms like “vile” and accusing Neides of serving an anti-vaccination agenda. (RELATED: Learn the truth about vaccine dangers and side effects at Vaccines.news)

Notably, Neides does not take a hard line anti-vaccine position, but rather suggests that some vaccines are unnecessary and that others should be spaced more widely. But that did not stop the media from implying that Neides was promoting a complete vaccine opt-out, or other doctors from harassing the Cleveland Clinic until it agreed to discipline him.

Is “toxins are harmful” controversial?

So what precisely did Neides say, to cause such an outraged response? The blog post opens with his story of going to get a flu shot — hardly the action of a vaccine refuser — and asking for a “preservative free” shot in order to avoid being exposed to mercury in the form of thimerosal. Neides then discovered that the “preservative free” shot does indeed contain preservatives, in the form of the carcinogenic chemical formaldehyde.

Neides uses this anecdote as a jumping off point to talk about the myriad ways that the modern world exposes us all to toxic chemicals, which are destroying our health.

“My anger … stems from a constant toxic burden that is contributing to the chronic disease epidemic,” he writes.

Neides notes that there are more than 80,000 chemicals being used in the United States, with another 2,000 introduced every year. In addition to vaccines, we are exposed to these via food, air pollution, personal care products, and even our clothing. He then makes the non-controversial claim that toxic chemicals disrupt the functioning of normal bodily systems, and can lead to diseases including cancer, autoimmune disease, heart disease, diabetes, and neurological diseases.

Although the link between toxic chemicals and neurological disease — including Parkinson’s, which Neides specifically mentioned — is well established, Neides’ inclusion of autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) on the list is part of what drew the ire of the medical establishment. But there is certainly reputable research suggesting a role of toxic chemicals in the development of both conditions.

Neides goes on to say that while the body has a “wonderful” capacity to clear out toxic chemicals, excessive exposure can overwhelm this system. Because vaccines are one source through which we are exposed to toxins such as formaldehyde, aluminum, and sometimes mercury, Neides holds them partially culpable for the chronic disease epidemic.

“Does the vaccine burden – as has been debated for years – cause autism?” he writes. “I don’t know and will not debate that here. What I will stand up and scream is that newborns without intact immune systems and detoxification systems are being over-burdened with PRESERVATIVES AND ADJUVANTS IN THE VACCINES.”
http://www.naturalnews.com/2017-01-18-doctor-causes-uproar-after-linking-vaccines-dangerous-ingredients-to-rise-in-neurological-diseases.html

The backlash to the post is disgraceful. Some vaccine product information leaflets themselves warn of potential side effects. The ingredients list includes toxins. Some people, and especially infants, are more sensitive to chemicals or toxic elements. It is only logical to suppose a percentage of these people will suffer from such low level poisoning.

Orlistat To Lower Cholesterol

healthyheartmiracle.com
DrMirkin.com

Orlistat has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration to help people lose weight. Although the weight loss is not very great, it has far greater potential to help lower cholesterol and prevent heart attacks. Orlistat blocks enzymes that help you absorb fat, so that only 2/3rds of fat in the intestines is absorbed, while 1/3d will pass from your body and can cause bloating, cramping and fatty leakage (1,2). It also can rob you of fat-soluble vitamins, ADE and K. You can prevent these side effects by severely restricting your intake of fat and taking extra vitamins A,D and E by eating huge amounts of yellow, orange and green vegetables, and whole grains, beans, seeds and nuts instead of bakery products, and by exposing your skin to sunlight on a regular basis.

In one study, people who took Orlistat plus a low fat diet lost 19.3 pounds, while those who only dieted lost 12.8 pounds. I do not believe that this minimal weight loss is worth the $3.30 per day that the manufacturer will charge. The manufacturer, Roche, has already done studies showing that the combination of cholesterol lowering drugs plus Orlistat is safe and highly effective in lowering cholesterol (3).

HEARTBURN MEDICATION LINKED TO INCREASED RISK OF HOSPITALIZATION

Heartburn medication can up your risk of hospitalization by 70%

People who use commonly-prescribed heartburn medication are 70 per cent more likely to be admitted to hospital for infectious gastroenteritis, new research has shown.
Proton pump inhibitors, or PPIs, are one of the world’s most commonly used gastric acid suppressants, with more than 19 million scripts prescribed each year in Australia.
A study led by the Australian National University has found people who use the medication are much more likely to be hospitalised for gastro.

Bacopa: The Brain-Boosting Alternative Treatment to Psychotropic Drugs

What if I told you there was a plant used to treat memory and brain-related disorder for thousands of years — a plant thought to be so beneficial to the mind that it’s been a staple of traditional Ayurvedic medicine in India since seemingly forever? You’d be excited about its possible application, right? Then you’re in luck, because bacopa checks off both these boxes and then some.
Also known as Brahmi, bacopa is used to treat a broad range of mind-related health concerns, including Alzheimer’s disease, memory loss, anxiety, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms, epilepsy, and as a general tonic to fight stress. Best of all, it has far less severe side effects than the dangerous psychotropic drugs often prescribed today. People also take bacopa to treat backache, joint pain, and sexual performance problems in both men and women. (1)
This visually appealing plant is commonly seen as a decorative and flourishing piece of live real estate in aquariums, but make no mistake — bacopa is not just another pretty face. The history and research confirm its dynamic abilities as a current medicinal healer that might hold even more benefits to humans in the near future. Bacopa has even been shown to help regulate dopamine production up and down as needed, and that’s not all. (2)

8 Bacopa Benefits

1. Adaptogenic Stress Reducer
It’s been shown that up to 90 percent of all visits to primary care physicians are for stress-related complaints — 90 percent! (3) Crazy, I know, but not hard to believe. Stress — especially chronic stress — does terrible things to our minds and bodies, and general stress reduction should always be a top priority for anyone trying to live a healthy lifestyle.
Bacopa extract has actually been shown to work as a natural stress reliever by helping our bodies better handle or adapt to our daily stressors. An animal study conducted at the Central Drug Research Institute in India showed that a standardized extract of Bacopa monniera successfully guarded against acute and chronic stress. More specifically, it reduced damaging stomach ulcer and adrenal activity. The study concluded that bacopa possesses a potent adaptogenic activity. (4)
2. Anti-Anxiety & Antidepressant
It’s probably not too surprising that just as it reduces stress, this beneficial plant also can reduce anxiety and depression. Animal research published by the University of Michigan Health System shows the positive brain effects of bacopa, including reduction of both depression and anxiety. These very positive effects on the nervous system have biochemically been attributed to an enhancement of the effects of the neurotransmitters acetylcholine and, possibly, serotonin or GABA. (5)
3. Memory Improvement
A small, double-blind, 12-week study conducted at the Neuropsychology Laboratory at the School of Biophysical Science and Electrical Engineering in Australia had volunteers take 300 milligrams of bacopa daily while other volunteers received a placebo. Prior to the study commencing, researchers tested all volunteers on visual information processing, memory and speed of information processing.
The tests were repeated five and 12 weeks after the study began. A significant improvement among the volunteers in the bacopa group was found compared to those in the placebo group, leading researchers to conclude that it “may improve higher order cognitive processes that are critically dependent on the input of information from our environment such as learning and memory.” (6)
4. Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Treatment
Alzheimer’s disease is a brain disorder that progressively causes memory loss, dementia and early mortality. Natural Alzheimer’s treatment can include supplementation with bacopa. According to the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation, it might hold promise for preventing the dementia (decline in mental ability severe enough to affect daily life) associated with Alzheimer’s.
Studies in rodents and test tubes suggest that it has biological effects that might protect against brain aging and/or dementia, but we don’t yet know if these effects are the same for humans or if the effects are strong enough to be clinically relevant. One encouraging human study showed that in elderly people with memory complaints, bacopa improved scores on tests of attention and verbal memory when used for three months at 450 milligrams per day. (7)
5. Epilepsy Treatment
Seizures occur in the body when your brain cells, which communicate through electrical signals, send out the wrong signals. Generally, several seizures are needed before there is a diagnosis of epilepsy.
One preliminary trial in India found that an extract of bacopa reduced the frequency of epileptic seizures in a small group of people. However, another similar preliminary trial gave inconclusive results. Controlled research is needed to properly evaluate whether bacopa is helpful for epilepsy, but there is hope that it could benefit those who suffer from seizure disorders like epilepsy. (8)
6. Chronic Pain Minimizer
Chronic pain is a huge health concern and health cost around the world today. Sadly, 77 percent of people with chronic pain also have some degree of medically treatable depression. Bacopa is well-documented to be a safe and well-tolerated herbal therapy for pain management in multiple clinical trials including various age groups.
A study published in Current Medicinal Chemistry showed that Bacopa monnieri not only has strong antidepressant effects, but it has pain-reducing capabilities comparable to morphine. The study also indicated that this herbal treatment offers protective benefits for organs commonly affected by opiate toxicity like the brain, kidneys and heart. (9)
7. Blood Pressure Regulator
A recent animal study showed that bacopa might increase the human body’s utilization of nitric oxide and encourage vascular muscle function, two benefits that positively influence normal blood pressure. The Journal of Ethnopharmacology study concludes that some Bacopa monnieri ingredients could be effective at reducing high blood pressure. (10)
8. ADHD Treatment
The bacosides in Bacopa monnieri are said to sharpen cognitive function by improving transmission of nerve impulses, which makes it promising for the treatment of ADHD. Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) often begins in childhood and is a chronic condition that involves attention difficulty, hyperactivity and impulsiveness.
In a 12-week, double-blind, randomized clinical trial, children with ADHD who took 50 milligrams twice a day showed significant improvement over children receiving a placebo in tests of mental control, logical memory and paired associated learning. Evaluation of study subjects did not occur until four weeks after stopping bacopa usage, indicating that the supplementation had a lasting effect. (11)
Overall, it makes sense why it would be helpful for the symptoms of ADHD. Bacopa creates a sense of calm and peace, which is very helpful for the hyperactive and impulsive tendencies of those with ADHD. It also has a unique ability to invigorate mental processes while reducing the effects of stress and nervous anxiety, which is a perfect combination for an ADHD sufferer’s attention difficulties.

Bacopa vs. Adderall - Dr. Axe

Bacopa vs. Adderall

Adderall is a form of amphetamine legally used in a limited number of countries, primarily the U.S. and Canada, for the treatment of ADHD, narcolepsy and depression. It’s a common drug pushed to treat ADHD, but it comes with some unhealthy side effects that are much more dangerous and common than those of bacopa.
Here’s how the two stack up:
Bacopa Pros
  • Not addictive
  • Improves memory and cognitive function
  • Shown to improve anxiety and depression
  • Shown to support focus, attention, learning and memory
  • Shown to enhance brain communication
  • Positively regulates dopamine and serotonin
Bacopa Cons
  • Can cause upset stomach if taken without food
  • For cognitive benefits it can take time to work — studies show improvements are much better at eight 12 weeks than they are at four to six weeks
  • Its powder form has a very bitter taste
Adderall Pros
  • When used short term, Adderall can have the positive effect of counteracting symptoms of ADHD by increasing availability of certain neurotransmitters like norepinephrine and dopamine in the brain, which boosts alertness, attention and energy levels
  • Increases the heart rate and the flow of blood to the muscles, making the user feel more energized
  • Can cause feelings of energy and invigoration, similar to the high experienced by cocaine users
  • Can also create rewarding feelings of euphoria, but this has led to it becoming popular as a recreational drug
Adderall Cons
  • Adderall can be highly addictive and dangerous to those who abuse it
  • Even when taken as prescribed, Adderall can have several negative effects in the short term, including:
    • Appetite suppression and unhealthy weight loss
    • Irritability
    • Trouble sleeping
    • Feelings of restlessness
    • Potentially dangerous cardiac issues

How to Use Bacopa

Bacopa is available in several forms, including powder, capsule, tea and syrup. According to the Alternative Medicine Review, recommended daily dosages are: (12)
  • 5–10 grams of non-standardized powder
  • 8–16 milliliters of infusion
  • 30 milliliters of syrup (Brahmi).
  • 5–12 milliliters per day for adults and 2.5–6 milliliters per day for children ages 6–
    12 of a 1:2 fluid extract
  • 200–400 milligrams in divided doses for adults and 100–200 milligrams daily in divided doses for children of extracts standardized to 20 percent bacosides A and B
Stick with bacopa products that are organic or wild-crafted to reduce the likelihood of contamination and GMOs.

Homemade Bacopa Tea

One great way to get all these tremendous benefits is to try some bacopa tea. You won’t get the jitters of traditional caffeine beverages, but you’ll likely get an uplifting and relaxing effect from this tea. To make tea from the plant, you can add a few fresh leaves or a good pinch of dried bacopa to one cup of boiled water and allow them to steep up to 10 minutes. If you use fresh leaves, you can tear and bruise the leaves so the aromatic oils are released into the water. Strain off the infused water so the leaves don’t get in the way of your drinking.
It has a warming, woody and slightly bitter taste that can be made more palatable with the addition of some honey. If you opt to use fresh bacopa, at least one study indicates that the use of the fresh plant material maximizes the concentration of its active saponins. (13)

Bacopa Plant Origin & Nutrition Facts

Bacopa is a genus of 70–100 aquatic plants belonging to the family Plantaginaceae. It’s native to India, where it grows in marshy regions. In the West, it’s a water plant often found in aquariums. Bacopa species are found in tropical and subtropical regions of the world, particularly the Americas. Most parts of the plant have been used traditionally, but modern preparations are extracts of the stem and leaves.
The typetraditionally used in herbal medicines is Bacopa monniera or Bacopa monnieri. It’s also commonly called Brahmi and water hyssop as well.
The leaves contain saponins, including bacosides that are believed to be responsible for the therapeutic properties of the herb. Studies have shown that both purified bacosides and extracts of bacopa standardized for bacosides have been found to enhance several aspects of mental function and learning ability.

Bacopa History & Interesting Facts

Since at least the sixth century A.D., bacopa has been used in Ayurvedic medicine as a diuretic and tonic for the nervous system as well as the heart. (14) In Indian and Ayurvedic medicines, it’s typically known as “Brahmi” after Brahmā, the creator god of the Hindu pantheon. In Ayurveda, pitta energy is considered the regulator of heat, energy, excitement and passion. A pitta imbalance is believed to be reflected in an inflamed, overheated, over-agitated,condition of mind and/or body. Brahmi is known as a soother of pitta imbalances.
In India, where bacopa has been revered for centuries, newborn babies are consecrated with it in the hope that it will open up the pathway to the intellect.
In 1998, the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine was given jointly to Robert F. Furchgott, Louis J. Ignarro and Ferid Murad for their discoveries of nitric oxide as a signaling molecule in the cardiovascular system. It’s been said that the Nobel Prize winners used bacopa in their award-winning experiments.

Possible Bacopa Side Effects

Bacopa extract is well-tolerated when taken in recommend dosages by mouth for short durations of up to 12 weeks. Therapeutic doses are not associated with any serious side effects, but less serious side effects can include nausea, cramping, bloated stomach, diarrhea, dry mouth and/or fatigue, especially when taken on an empty stomach.
Bacopa can have a slight sedative effect so use caution when combining it with other known sedatives. It may also intensify the activity of thyroid-stimulating drugs or inhibit the effectiveness of thyroid-suppressant drugs. Check with your doctor before taking bacopa if you have any medical conditions.
As a plant, bacopa is known to accumulate toxic metals like mercury so, depending on where the plant is grown, the levels of mercury or other toxins in its extract might be high. This is why it’s important to purchase bacopa that’s of high quality from a reputable company.

Final Thoughts on Bacopa

Bacopa has been a star of traditional Ayurvedic healing for centuries. Now modern-day research continues to confirm bacopa’s abilities to improve and positively change not just mental abilities like memory and learning, but also mental health like depression and anxiety.
ADHD is on the rise globally and so is the use of conventional treatment like the drug Adderral, but bacopa extract is a natural substance that has the ability to significantly help ADHD without all of the scary side effects of conventional treatment. If you think that you or someone you know could benefit from bacopa, I think it’s worth considering this water plant for its incredible medicinal abilities.
And don’t forget, in addition to treating ADHD, bacopa is an adaptogenic stress reducer, anti-anxiety and antidepressant agent, memory enhancer, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia treatment, epilepsy treatment, chronic pain minimizer, and blood pressure regulator — making it a safe, healthy alternative to remedy and/or prevent a host of health issues.

Orlistat FDA OTC Approved Weight Loss Aid Also Appears to Prevent the Onset of Type 2 Diabetes - How to Reverse Type 2 Diabetes Naturally

The effectiveness of orlistat in promoting weight loss is definite but modest. Pooled data from clinical trials suggest that people given orlistat in addition to lifestyle modifications, such as diet and exercise, lose about 2–3 kilograms (4.4–6.6 lb) more than those not taking the drug over the course of a year.[7] Orlistat also modestly reduces blood pressure and appears to prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes, whether from the weight loss itself or to other effects. In a large randomized controlled trial, orlistat was found to reduce the incidence of diabetes by nearly 40% in obese people.[8]
